The US banking sector underperformed the broader stock market in February.
The 205 banks in an S&P Global Market Intelligence analysis had a median total return of negative 2.1% in February, trailing the S&P 500's negative 0.8% return but outperforming the market cap-weighted S&P US BMI Banks index, which was down 3.9%. Six of the 205 banks returned negative 10% or worse, led by Everett, Washington-based Coastal Financial Corp. ( CCB ) at negative 22.5% and West Reading, Pennsylvania-based Customers Bancorp Inc. ( CUBI ) at negative 14.7%....
