Comfort Systems Vs. EMCOR Group: I Was Wrong Before, But EMCOR Is Still My Buy

Back in January 2025, I had my first look at Comfort Systems USA, Inc. ( FIX ) and EMCOR Group, Inc. ( EME ), rating EME a Buy and FIX a Hold. At the time I liked EME’s lower multiple, its greater diversification, and the nearly 2% buyback yield. I’d say half that call worked out -- EME climbed from ~$470 to ~$800. But FIX went from ~$440 to $1,850, essentially quadrupling! Clearly I was too cautious about FIX’s highly specialized business, which was exactly what the datacenter buildout needs....
