Thesis
The First Trust Senior Floating Rate Income Fund II ( FCT ) is a fixed-income closed-end fund, or CEF, that we last covered in 2024. At the time we downgraded the CEF to Hold, arguing the large premium was not warranted given the outlook for Fed Funds. While the total return is positive since then, the price for the CEF is lower since our last article. In the CEF space, we aim to assign Buy ratings only when we see undervaluations that would result in higher prices, in addition to the stated fund dividend....
