Consumer sentiment lifted slightly in December but remains near a historically low level. The Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index rose 1.9 points (3.7%) to 52.9 this month, its first increase in five months. The latest reading puts the index in the 1st percentile of the series. Sentiment is down 21.1 points (-28.5%) from one year ago....
