Overview
Western Asset High Income Fund II ( HIX ) operates as a closed-end fund that aims to provide attractive total returns and high income generation from a global portfolio of income producing assets. When I previously covered HIX, I issued a hold rating due to the limited growth potential as interest rates remained elevated and a flawed portfolio structure. Since then, the fund has released an updated semi-annual report that I wanted to use to reassess the fund's value proposition now that we've crossed into the new year.
