Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) discussed during the conference call that Venezuela had relatively high-cost product. This part of the discussion overshadowed the earnings report by a considerable amount. But Exxon Mobil discussed the fact that they "keep up" with this type of oil mainly through the Imperial Oil ( IMO ) subsidiary. So possible technologies and people in the company that know the product are available. But probably what was discussed that was new to many is the continuing border dispute with Guyana, which has an effect on the Guyana business....
