After many years of being outperformed by U.S. equities, Canadian equities have outpaced the S&P 500 by an impressive 7% YTD. On Tuesday September 22, Canada's main stock index, the Toronto Stock Exchange topped 30,000 for the first time. This milestone is the result of a 20% YTD equity market returns fueled by Canada’s largest equities. One of my preferred ways to gain exposure to Canadian equities is through the iShares S&P/TSX 60 Index ETF ( XIU:CA ). I have owned units of XIU since the Global Financial Crisis. I have continued to reinvest distributions every quarter and maintain an average cost of under $20 per unit....
