Mohawk Industries: Even Though Shares Are Cheap, Caution Is Justified

Back in April of this year, one company that I decided to revisit was Mohawk Industries, Inc. ( MHK ). At the time, I considered this enterprise, which operates as a provider of rugs, flooring, carpets, ceramic tiles, and other similar offerings and that caters to commercial and residential customers, to be an interesting business. Management continues to make progress when it comes to certain restructuring initiatives. Unfortunately, however, even though the stock was cheap, it was not cheap enough in light of declining fundamentals to justify a bullish outlook. At the end of the day, I ended up reaffirming it as a Hold candidate....
