Essent Group: Upgrading To Hold As Interest Rates Decline

In April, shortly after the market declines from “Liberation Day”, I wrote an analysis for Essent Group ( ESNT ). The company is one of five major publicly traded companies that sell private mortgage insurance, or PMI. In my article, I rated the stock as a Sell due to the company’s slowing growth, declines in new PMI policies written, and increasing risk for loan defaults in the year ahead.
