I really like this asset class, but I don't like the approach adopted by the iShares Preferred and Income Securities ETF ( PFF ). Its purely passive nature, in a niche market like preferred stocks and hybrid securities, makes it less attractive compared to equally listed but actively managed funds ( like PFFA )....
