Investment thesis
Talos Energy ( TALO ) is an independent oil producer in the Gulf of America (GoA) that continues to execute on its growth strategy. The stock price is down 8% from the prior time I covered TALO on Seeking Alpha more than a year ago. While this by itself is disappointing, what is encouraging is that in the recent months TALO appears to have de-coupled from oil prices ( CL1:COM ) and the broader energy equity index ( XLE ):
