The iShares MSCI EAFE Small-Cap ETF ( SCZ ) is a passively managed exchange-traded fund (also known as an ETF) that invests in small-capitalization equities from developed markets outside the United States and Canada. BlackRock launched the fund in December 2007, and it has grown to $14 billion+ in net assets — making it a dominant vehicle in the foreign small/mid-cap blend category by AUM. The fund’s benchmark is the MSCI EAFE Small Cap Index, and as a full-replication passive fund, BlackRock simply holds a proportionate share of the index constituents, rebalancing periodically in line with index changes....
