February CPI came in right at expectations. The headline rate rose 0.27% last month, slightly higher than January’s climb. The core rate—excluding food and energy—added 0.22%, slightly less than the January increase. Compared to a year ago, headline CPI is now 2.46%, near the lowest since early 2021.
