Swiss Water Decaffeinated Coffee (TSX: SWP ) uses a decaffeinating method that removes the caffeine without any use of chemicals like methylene chloride or ethyl acetate, which are chemical solvents to remove the caffeine from the beans, but the problem is that there is a possibility that it leaves a small amount of chemicals in the beans, which is not desirable to any consumer. No one wants to ingest chemicals from their daily habits like drinking coffee, as there has been a rise in the demand for decaf coffee as individuals get more and more conscious of their health habits, as ingesting chemicals is obviously one of the last things individuals would consciously do. Swiss Water essentially performs a more premium process for roasters and importers to remove the caffeine without leaving a trace of chemicals, which is the main differentiation point between Swiss Water and the traditional/standard practice of decaffeinating coffee. For example, Starbucks still does the direct contact method, and though there is meant to be absolutely 0 presence of methylene chloride since it is toxic, the possibility of small traces or even the possibility of intaking the chemical due to some error is worrying to consumers....
