Teekay Tankers: Approaching A Cyclical High

At the end of the third quarter, Teekay ( TK ) corporation owned 10.6 million shares of Teekay Tankers ( TNK ). That significant block of shares gives Teekay effective control of Teekay Tankers. Teekay Tankers has long been part of the Teekay group in this fashion. Since my last article some years ago, the stock has roughly quadrupled. Not long after my last article, the business hit a cyclical peak and then declined during the COVID year. It is now likely approaching yet another business peak. Therefore, it is time to consider selling before the next cyclical decline....
