Travelers: Cheap Enough To Buy After A Strong Q4

Shares of the Travelers Companies ( TRV ) have been a solid performer over the past year, gaining about 13%. After a challenging start to 2025 given the California wildfires, conditions improved for the industry later in 2025 thanks to a very quiet hurricane season. We have also seen shares pull back more recently as concerns persist about the industry facing peak margins amid pressure on premium inflation. I last covered shares in June , when I downgraded the stock to a “hold.” Since then, shares have returned 3%, lagging the market’s 13% gain, which I view as being consistent with the rating (a positive, but market lagging return). With updated financials, now is a good time to revisit TRV....
