At some point in early 2025, I was intrigued by how richly valued the hotel companies were, namely Marriott (MAR), Hilton (HLT), and InterContinental (IHG). While all were trading at something close to a 30x price-to-earnings ratio (P/E), I found their 'siblings,' like Marriott Vacations ( VAC ) and Hilton Vacations (HGV), trading at much more reasonable valuations. I soon found out what I believe to be the reason and decided to write my first article about Marriott Vacations....
