Top 5 ASX Nickel Stocks of 2025

While countries are adding nickel to their critical minerals lists, many nickel companies have faced difficulty due to a tough price environment.
Nickel prices started 2025 with high volatility before flattening in Q3 at around US$15,000 per tonne on the London Metals Exchange.
The price movements over the past few years haven’t been supportive of nickel producers , as they’ve struggled with excess production from top nickel country Indonesia, leading several nickel miners to close mines in 2024 and 2025.
The difficult conditions prompted Indonesia to make significant cuts to mining quotas earlier this year. While these efforts stabilized prices, the markets remain oversupplied. Still, long-term demand forecasts are still in place, and the demand gap is expected to close over the next few years.
