- The U.S. House of Representatives on Saturday voted 360 to 58 to approve a bill that would force Chinese tech giant ByteDance ( BDNCE ) to sell its popular video platform TikTok or face having it banned in the U.S. app stores.
- The measure marked the beginning of a set of votes that the House was expected to consider as part of a $95B foreign aid package and national security bills in support of Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.
- Lawmakers voted to pass a similar bill last month. However, the latest bill extends the divestiture timeline to 270 days from 180 days.
