Airbnb Inc. (NASDAQ:ABNB) has introduced smart lock integration, streamlining the check-in process for guests and eliminating the need for hosts to issue new door codes.
What Happened: On Wednesday, Airbnb unveiled a software update that enables smart lock integration. The feature is compatible with select hardware from companies such as August, Schlage, and Yale, reported The Verge.
The system auto-generates codes that guests can access through the Airbnb app, email, or notifications. After the checkout process, the codes get deactivated.
