Comedian Pete Davidson isn’t the person many would expect to be able to deliver a strong show of support for the people impacted by the Middle East conflict.
While hosting "Saturday Night Live,” Davidson did just that.
What Happened: The Hamas militant group's attack on Israel has elicited responses from celebrities around the world.
Davidson, a former cast member on "Saturday Night Live,” used his personal experience to deliver a monologue during the cold open of the show this past weekend.
"This week we saw the horrible images and stories from Israel and Gaza and I know what you’re thinking, who better to comment on it than Pete Davidson,” the comedian said.
Davidson added that he knows something about what it’s like to be a kid asking questions about terrorism and world conflicts.
"In a lot of ways, I am a good person to talk about it, because when I was seven years old, my dad was killed in a terrorist attack.”
Davidson’s father Scott Davidson was a firefighter who was killed during the September 11 attacks in New York City.
