AON - Arthur J. Gallagher is said in talks to buy assets from Aon and Willis Towers for $3B

Arthur J. Gallagher (AJG) is said in negotiations to buy a portfolio of assets from Aon (AON) and Willis Towers Watson (WLTW) for about $3B.A deal could come be finalized in the coming weeks, according to a Bloomberg report yesterday. Assets in German, Spain, France and Netherlands and Willis Towers' reinsurance unit are part of the deal.The potential agreement is part of a regulatory approval for AON's purchase of Willis Towers after the companies recently offered remedies to the European Commission, according to the report.Late last month Reuters reported that Aon's deal for Willis Towers will likely get conditional approval from EU antitrust authorities.Also last month Insurance Insider reported that the U.S. Department of Justice is demanding U.S. and Bermudian Willis disposals in order to approve the AON combination.
