IPOS - Asia IPOs report $56B in Q3 deals highest ever led by South Korea and India
Global IPO market is on the way to breaking all records in 2021, according to EY market analysis cited by Consultancy Asia; across all corners, number of IPOs and stock listings proceeds crossed 2020 figures with YTD total now at 1,635 IPOs raising $330.7B. In 2020, SPAC IPO volumes soared to $77.35B; initially, the trend continued into 2021, as it only took 70 calendar days to beat the 2020 total volume, a S&P Global Market Intelligence report indicates. The key driver of activity in Q3 was the rebound of IPO markets in Europe, Middle East, India and Africa, particularly Europe, India and Tel Aviv exchanges. A quick look at a chart posted by Consultancy Asia indicates that among the top five exchanges in IPO proceeds in YTD 2021 and YTD 2020, three of them were Asian exchanges.
