BNGO - Bionano Genomics shares surge 9% on Saphyr system DNA replication data

Bionano Genomics' (BNGO) Saphyr system was able to determine the timing, speed and origin of DNA replication in human cells at a much higher rate than currently available methods.The study focused on the mechanisms of DNA replication, a critical part of cell growth found in cancer.Results showed that when combined with optical genome mapping, Saphyr's coverage level of DNA replication was thousands of times higher than older methods, such as nanopore sequencing.Bionano shares are up 9% to $6.44 in premarket trading.
