CA - BMO Financial appoints Darrel Hackett as U.S. CEO

- Bank of Montreal ( NYSE: BMO ) said Thursday that Darrel Hackett, who has been with the North American banking giant since 2004, has been named U.S. CEO of BMO Financial Group effective June 1.
- Hackett, 50, will report to BMO ( BMO ) CEO Darryl White and join the company's Executive Committee as well as chair the U.S. Management Committee.
- Looking at his career, he most recently served as president of BMO's ( BMO ) U.S. Wealth Management, and ran the bank's U.S. business banking division before that. Hackett will succeed Dave Casper, who is looking to retire this summer.
- The move comes amid Canada-based BMO's ( BMO ) U.S. expansion. Having recently acquired San Francisco-California-based Bank of the West from BNP Paribas, BMO is now the eighth largest lender in North America with over $1.1T in assets .
