HXL - Boeing woes weigh on suppliers after dropping Dreamliner delivery target
Nick Whittle/iStock via Getty Images Boeing ([[BA]] -3.9%) is today's largest loser by far on the Dow Jones index after the company said additional rework would be needed on undelivered 787s and that production of the plane will temporarily drop below five per month. "While the sub-par delivery number for Q2 should come as no surprise to investors... [the news] again gives the impression that Boeing has not got its house in order, and that it is falling further behind as other aerospace companies start to enjoy the early signs of an aerospace recovery," Vertical Research's Robert Stallard writes. "We plan to formally update our Boeing estimates in our Q2 earnings preview this week, but the delivery numbers and updated 787 forecast clearly put downward pressure on our numbers," Stallard says while still maintaining his Hold rating on the shares.
