CC - Chemours names Newman as President/CEO succeeding Vergnano
Chemours (CC) says current COO Mark Newman will become its new President and CEO effective July 1, succeeding Mark Vergnano, who has served as President and CEO since the company's founding in 2015.Vergnano will retire from Chemours and assume the position of non-executive Chairman for the rest of 2021, succeeding Richard Brown, who has announced his intention to retire.Current board member Dawn Farrell will become the company's Lead Independent Director.Newman joined Chemours as Senior VP and CFO in 2014 after serving as CFO of SunCoke Energy; he was appointed COO in 2019, with responsibility over the company's global commercial businesses.Chemours is "a decent long-term prospect for value-oriented investors," Daniel Jones writes in a bullish analysis posted recently on Seeking Alpha.
