CSSE - Chicken Soup for the Soul sets post-Redbox leadership

Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment ( NASDAQ: CSSE ) has firmed up its leadership in the wake of its combination with Redbox Entertainment .

Its stock, meanwhile, is down 6.9% in a broadly lower stock market.

The new team draws from both companies, with execs Galen Smith and Jonathan Katz reporting to CSSE Chairman/CEO William Rouhana.

Galen Smith, coming in after leading Redbox as CEO, will serve as CSSE's executive vice chairman, and oversee all long-term planning, including strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate services.

Among the people reporting to him are other former Redbox execs: Redbox's Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer Jason Kwong will become chief innovation officer for CSSE, and Redbox's general counsel, Fred Stein, takes over as CSSE chief legal officer.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Kats will act as president of the combined company, responsible for day-to-day operations including streaming, kiosks, distribution and the studio business. Among those reporting to him, Redbox's Michael Chamberlain will continue overseeing kiosks, while David Ellender will keep leading the CSSE Television Group and David Fannon keeps overseeing content acquisition and distribution.

Chief Marketing Officer Mike Feldner adds the combined company to his Redbox role. Chief Revenue Officer Philippe Guelton has an expanded role leading ad sales and operations and revenue partnerships; and Chief Digital Officer Adam Mosam expands his role to add oversight of the streaming businesses.

The end of the merger deal brought some new volatility to what had been unusual trading in the stocks before the closure .
