QCOM - Court sides with Qualcomm in FTC's appeal of dismissed antitrust case

Qualcomm (QCOM) scores a win after a U.S. appeals court declines to reconsider a decision that dismissed the FTC's antitrust case against the company.The FTC accused Qualcomm of anticompetitive patent licensing to maintain a monopoly on smartphone modem chips.In August, a three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit said the FTC hadn't established QCOM's practices had an anticompetitive effect on the market.Last month, the FTC filed a motion requesting an en banc hearing before an 11-judge panel.Previously: Qualcomm gains after winning FTC antitrust case appeal (Aug. 11 2020)
