JL Images/iStock Editorial via Getty Images The Dep. of Justice's trial challenging Aon's (AON) planned purchase of Willis Towers Watson (WLTW) is set to start Nov. 18. Willis Towers fell 0.9%, while AON dropped 0.6%. The trial well start Nov. 18 and go until Nov. 23, Politico antitrust report Leah Nylen tweeted. The trial will adjourn and than pick up again from Dec. 20 to Dec. 22. The DOJ sued last month to block the insurance deal saying that the deal would "eliminate substantial head-to-head competition" and likely lead to higher prices. Arthur J. Gallagher (AJG) agreed to buy assets that Aon and Willis Towers were selling in order to get antitrust approval in Europe for the deal and is in a holding pattern until the outcome of the U.S. antitrust trial is decided. Last month, a Wells Fargo analyst said that Aon has a 50/50 chance of winning against the Dept. of Justice.
