UUUU - Energy Fuels seeks to recover isotopes for new domestic medical supply chain

Energy Fuels (NYSE:UUUU) +2.5% pre-market after announcing a strategic alliance with RadTran LLC for the recovery of isotopes needed for emerging cancer therapeutics. The companies will evaluate the recovery of thorium, and potentially radium, from Energy Fuels' existing rare earth carbonate and uranium process streams for use in the production of medical isotopes for emerging targeted alpha therapy cancer therapeutics. Energy Fuels says the initiative will complement its existing uranium and rare earth carbonate businesses, as it will investigate the recovery of isotopes in existing process streams at the White Mesa Mill in Utah for medical purposes. Energy Fuels' White Mesa Mill is the only licensed and operating conventional uranium mill in the U.S., and it recently began production of real earth carbonate from natural monazite sands.
