  • European antitrust regulators are expected to approve Microsoft's ( NASDAQ: MSFT ) planned $69 billion acquisition of Activision ( NASDAQ: ATVI ) next week.
  • The European Commission is expected to approve the deal as soon as Monday, according to a Reuters report on Wednesday, which cited people familiar. The European regulator has a May 22 deadline for its decision on the videogame mega deal.
  • Reuters reported in March that Microsoft ( ATVI ) was reportedly headed toward European antitrust approval for Activision ( ATVI ), thanks to its offers to license videogames to its competitors.
  • The latest report comes after the UK's regulator blocked Microsoft's planned Activision deal last month, citing concerns about cloud gaming.
