On November 15, 2021, after market hours, Exicure filed a Form 12b-25 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) stating that it could not timely file its quarterly report for the period ended September 30, 2021. On this news, Exicure’s share price fell $0.293, or 27%, to close at $0.777 per share on November 16, 2021, the next trading day, on heavy trading volume.
