TLT - Federal Reserve Watch: Fed's Interest Rate Policy

• The Federal Reserve is maintaining its new policy rate of interest, which is 50 basis points above the previous level: The effective Federal Funds rate is now at 0.83 percent.
• Since March 16, the date the last rate move took place, "excess reserves" in the banking system have declined by almost $600.0 billion while the securities portfolio fell by $6.5 billion.
• Mr. Jerome Powell has received approval from the U.S. Congress for his re-appointment and now must face an inflation fight, whereas in his first term, he fought a financial collapse.
