CA - Galiano Gold reports two deaths at Ghana mine
Galiano Gold ( NYSE: GAU ) -3.1% in Monday's trading following news that two contractors were killed in an incident at the Asanko gold mine in Ghana it operates as a co-owner with Gold Fields ( NYSE: GFI ).
Emergency services responded to the incident near the tailings storage facility where two contractors were pronounced dead at the scene, Galiano ( GAU ) said.
FY 2022 gold production at Asanko totaled 170,342 oz, well ahead of the company's original guidance for 100K-120K oz.
Gold Fields ( GFI ) may acquire Galiano Gold ( GAU ) at some point, Fun Trading writes in an analysis published on Seeking Alpha .
