SAM - Hard seltzer sales stay strong with new powerhouse brands expected soon
Evercore ISI reports seltzer sales are beginning 2021 off strong. The big three are still dominating with White Claw holding 50.0% seltzer market share, Truly (SAM) 24.9% market share and Bud Light Seltzer (BUD) at 9.7% market share. No other seltzer brand is over 3% market share. Seltzer sales accounted for 8.3% of all beer sales for the week ending on January 10. That is down just a bit from when Seltzer products nabbed 9.3% of all beer sales for the week ending September 27. The big news in the hard seltzer world is that Monster Beverage (MNST) hinted at a product during its analyst day event last week. Coca-Cola (KO) is also expected to enter the hard seltzer category this year.
