HLBZ - Helbiz skyrockets on huge volume amid elevated social media interest

Helbiz Inc. ( NASDAQ: HLBZ ) soared in early trading on Tuesday with a 211% pop to push shares to a four-month high before the EV stock eased back down again.

The intra-urban transportation company did not release any announcements or SEC filings, but has seen a notable jump in social media interest over the last week.

Despite the small market cap of just over $55M, HLBZ was one of the 30 most-discussed stocks on Reddit's WallStreetBets this week and gained a larger following on StockTwits. Short interest on HLBZ is at 7.01% of total float.

Last month, Helbiz ( HLBZ ) CEO Palella Salvatore acquired 327,425 shares at $0.623 per share.

HLBZ was showing a 55% gain at 10:10 a.m. on Tuesday on volume of over 64M shares vs. the normal daily average of 5.6M.
