Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) represented the biggest name making news in Wednesday's pre-market period. Shares of the software giant edged up as the company enhanced its plan to return cash to shareholders. Automatic Data Processing (NASDAQ:ADP) was also in the spotlight during the morning. The company announced that its top financial executive will be retiring at the end of the month. Earnings news gave a lift to shares of Skillsoft (NYSE:SKIL). The stock advanced in pre-market trading on strong bookings for its Percipio product. Looking at some of the big pre-market losers, ChromaDex (NASDAQ:CDXC) dropped sharply following a legal loss. Hut 8 Mining (NASDAQ:HUT) also posted a substantial decline, weighed down by a planned capital raise.
