TCNNF - House floor vote on marijuana banking legislation slated for next week
The SAFE Banking Act, H.R. 1996, legislation seen as crucial to advance federal marijuana legalization, will get a House floor vote on April 19, according to a legislative calendar from House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.)The bill would provide protections for banks that engage with legitimate cannabis-related businesses.After it was introduced last month, one of the shortcomings of the bill was that it didn't include language that would allow multi-state operators (MSOs) to uplist on major stock exchanges.Companion legislation, S. 910, has also been introduced in the Senate.U.S. multi-state operators as of Friday's close: MedMen Enterprises (MMNFF) -3.9%; Curaleaf Holdings (CURLF) -1.1%; Acreage Holdings (ACRHF) +2.9%; Harvest Health & Recreation (HRVSF) +2.1%; Cresco Labs (CRLBF) +2.7%; Green Thumb Industries (GTBIF) -3.8%; Trulieve Cannabis (TCNNF) -2.1%.
