QS - Investors bid up select electric vehicle stocks after Apple car development
A cross-section of electric vehicle stocks are higher after yesterday's late report that Apple is moving ahead on developing a self-driving car that could use the company's own breakthrough battery technology. Gainers include GreenPower Motors ([[GP]] +6.4%), Niu Technologies ([[NIU]] +0.5%), Workhorse Group ([[WKHS]] +6.7%), Lordstown Motors ([[RIDE]] +7.4%), Ayro ([[AYRO]] +3.6%), QunatumScape ([[QS]] +25.6%), Foresight Autonomous Holdings ([[FRSX]] +14.2%), Hyliion Holdings ([[HYLN]] +3.1%) and Blink Charging ([[BLNK]] +14.6%). Some investors think the M&A landscape is ripe for 2021 to see some major deals. While, in general, there is more interest from analysts on Wall Street on what Apple could do with battery technology than on any potential impact of the Cupertino company as a big volume producer to challenge OEMs.
