Kinder Morgan (KMI), which obtains most of its revenue from pipeline and storage fees, is making plans to also profit from trading petroleum products such as gasoline, Bloomberg reports.The company reportedly has posted a job offering on LinkedIn for a candidate with experience in marketing and trading refined petroleum products who will be "responsible for developing profitable commercial opportunities."Major U.S. pipeline companies seldom trade petroleum products, but Energy Transfer (ET) actively trades fuels like gasoline and diesel via its ownership of Sunoco LP (SUN).Kinder Morgan made nearly $1B selling natural gas during the Texas freeze this past February, and Energy Transfer made $2.4B from the storm.
