TLT - Long-term U.S. Treasury bond ETF climbs to the top of the 2023 fund flow leaderboard

The iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF ( NASDAQ: TLT ) currently sits atop the capital flow leaderboard for exchange traded funds in 2023. TLT has now amassed more investor cash than any other exchange traded fund on the market so far this year, taking its total assets under management to $37.30B.

Year to date, TLT has been able to accumulate $10.37B, according to Bloomberg data. This topped the inflows for the iShares MSCI USA Quality Factor ETF ( QUAL ), Vanguard S&P 500 ETF ( VOO ) and JPMorgan Equity Premium Income ETF ( JEPI ), which have seen the second, third and fourth most significant inflows in 2023. These ETFs have attracted at $9.40B, $9.04B and $8.36B, respectively.

A large portion of TLT's capital injection came during the month of May where the ETF has been able to accumulate $2.65B in net new money. For comparison, QUAL, VOO and JEPI brought in $700.2M, $1.44B, and $1.02B during May.

TLT, which focuses on long-term U.S. Treasury bonds with remaining maturities greater than twenty years, has fallen by 1.5% so far this year. QUAL, VOO and JEPI are +11.3% , +8.7% and -1.1% in 2023.
