CA - Marathon Gold surges after drilling results show high-grade gold mineralization

Marathon Gold ( OTCQX:MGDPF ) +7.3% to its highest intraday level since September after reporting additional infill drill results from its Valentine gold project in Newfoundland showing assays returned as much as 5.01 g/t of gold over 18 meters and 3.5 g/t over 14 meters.

Drill results showing high-grade gold mineralization represent fire assay data from 5,490 meters of drilling in 27 holes.

The exploration program "has the potential to add mineable ounces" to the Valentine project's mine plan, President and CEO Matt Mason said.
