NKLA - Production deliveries once again in focus for Nikola's Q4 earnings

Nikola ( NASDAQ: NKLA ) is scheduled to announce Q4 earnings results on Thursday, February 23rd, before market open.

The consensus EPS Estimate is -$0.42 (vs. -$0.49 last year) and the consensus Revenue Estimate is $33.49M (vs. no revenue last year).

Over the last 2 years, NKLA has beaten EPS estimates 88% of the time and has beaten revenue estimates 38% of the time.

The maker of heavy-duty electric vehicles in early Nov. 2022 reported Q3 results that beat estimates and said it had produced 75 Tre BEVs trucks and delivered 63 of them to dealers.

However, the company did not issue any production guidance. NKLA CFO Kim Brady also did not issue any specific outlook on deliveries while saying that the company would cut operating expenditure and capital expenditure spending in 2023 by 20% to 30%.

A major highlight for NKLA in Q4 was the announcement of a green hydrogen supply agreement with Plug Power ( PLUG ). Investors cheered the development and sent the company's shares higher.

The focus in Q4 will once again be on production and deliveries numbers, and for any outlook on it.
