Mining companies operating in Quebec evacuated employees and suspended exploration work Monday as at least 164 forest fires tear through the province, including 114 considered out of control.
Wallbridge Mining ( OTCQX:WLBMF ) said it has evacuated the camp at its Fenelon Gold project and suspended all exploration activities on its Detour-Fenelon Gold Trend property in Quebec's northern Abitibi region.
The company said it made the decision after an emergency order from Quebec's provincial government prohibited access due to the fires.
Osisko Mining ( OTCPK:OBNNF ) said it suspended work and pulled out workers from its Windfall gold project due to the fires affecting the communities in Abitibi and Eeyou Istchee James Bay.
Patriot Battery Metals ( OTCQX:PMETF ) said it halted drilling and surface exploration field activities until the fire situation near its operations in Quebec improves.
