AYRWF - Senator pens letter to allow SBA to make loans to legal cannabis businesses
Sen.Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) is asking leaders of the Senate Appropriations Committee to include language in the fiscal year 2023 appropriations bill that would prohibit the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) from denying loans to cannabis businesses. "SBA loan programs would be especially helpful to cannabis small businesses because they would fill gaps left by the private sector and could expand the availability of capital for many entrepreneurs," the letter states. Presently, SBA policy forbids excludes all small businesses with direct or indirect involvement with cannabis from taking advantage of loans and entrepreneurial development programs. Access to these loans and programs "would support a rapidly growing industry that creates jobs, supports small businesses, and raises revenues in states that have chosen to legalize cannabis." Cannabis multi-state operators: Cresco Labs (OTCQX:CRLBF); Columbia Care (OTCQX:CCHWF); Trulieve Cannabis (OTCQX:TCNNF); Green Thumb Industries (OTCQX:GTBIF); Curaleaf Holdings (OTCPK:CURLF); MedMen Enterprises (OTCQB:MMNFF); Acreage Holdings (OTCQX:ACRHF); Ayr Wellness
