SDC - SmileDirectClub wins Appeals Court ruling in case with Georgia Board of Dentistry
artisteer/iStock via Getty Images An en banc panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit has ruled in favor of SmileDirectClub (SDC), rejecting an attempt by the Georgia Board of Dentistry “to shield itself from antitrust liability through an interlocutory appeal,” the company announced. SmileDirectClub shares have added ~4.9% in the post-market in reaction. The case relates to appeals made by the Georgia Dental Board and the Alabama Dental Board after lower court decisions in SmileDirectClub’s favor. The company anticipates a similar ruling in reaction to an appeal made by the Alabama Dental Board.
