UBER - Uber reportedly in a deal with Tata Motors to launch 25000 EVs in India
- In a bid to go green, Uber Technologies ( NYSE: UBER ) will launch 25,000 electric vehicles (EVs) in India for ride-sharing over three years, reported Reuters on Monday.
- The ride-hailing platform's fleet partners will buy 25,000 XPRES'T electric vehicle units from Tata Motors ( TTM ), Prabhjeet Singh, president, Uber India and South Asia told Reuters.
- "We are going to be a big catalyst in accelerating the (EV) ecosystem," Singh told Reuters.
- The EVs will run across Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad.
- Tata Motors will begin the deliveries of the cars gradually, beginning this month.
- So far this year, shares have grown more than 37% .
