UNFI - United Natural Foods announces regional restructuring elimination of 150 roles

• United Natural Foods ( NYSE: UNFI ) on Tuesday said it would consolidate its operations into three regions from four and would cut about 150 roles in management or supervisory positions.
• UNFI stock earlier closed +2.8% at $21.64, and was largely unchanged after hours.
• The company will now have an east region, a west region and a central region.
• "The regional realignment will decrease layers of administrative management, increase leaders’ span of geographic responsibility, better align us to serve customers with less complexity, and support faster decision making," UNFI CEO Sandy Douglas said in a statement .
