VSAT - Viasat gains after UK antitrust regulator provisionally clears Inmarsat purchase
- Viasat ( NASDAQ: VSAT ) rose 3.9% in premarket trading after the UK's antitrust authority gave provisional approval for its acquisition of Inmarsat.
- The UK's Competition and Markets Authority has provisionally cleared the transaction, according to a posting on the regulator's website.
- The approval comes after the UK's antitrust watchdog moved the planned acquisition of Inmarsat into an in-depth investigation in October. Last month Europe's antitrust regulator said it opened an in-depth investigation into the deal. The EU regulator has until June 29 to make a decision.
- Viasat ( VSAT ) agreed to buy Inmarsat in a transaction valued at $4 billion in cash and stock in November 2021.
